AI plain language rewriter: cut the jargon, keep the facts
Words that are everyday vocabulary in your industry can lose your customers. Paste your text and AI rewrites it in plain language without changing the meaning or the facts. You also get a list of what was replaced, so you can check every change.
How to use it
- Paste your newsletter text, announcement or customer email into the box (up to 1,500 characters).
- Optionally describe who will read it, then click “Generate with AI”.
- Read the rewrite and the list of replaced terms, check that numbers and conditions match the original, then copy it.
Before and after examples
- “Pursuant to our updated terms” → “Under our new terms”
- “Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated no less than 72 hours in advance” → “We’ll tell you about planned maintenance at least 72 hours ahead”
- “Please remit payment upon receipt” → “Please pay when you get this invoice”
- “Leverage our onboarding resources” → “Use our getting-started guides”
Why plain language works better in email
Readers decide within seconds whether an email is worth their time. One unfamiliar term can be enough for them to stop reading. Plain wording means fewer support questions, fewer missed deadlines and a message that also works for older readers and people reading in a second language. U.S. federal agencies are required to write this way under the Plain Writing Act of 2010, and the same principles help small businesses.
A quick plain language checklist
- One idea per sentence. Split long sentences in two.
- Swap jargon, acronyms and buzzwords for the words your readers use.
- If a term must stay (a law, a form, a product name), explain it briefly the first time.
- Say what the reader needs to do, and by when, near the top.
- After rewriting, compare every number, date, price and condition with the original.
How this tool works
Your text is sent to an AI model (Claude by Anthropic) to produce the rewrite. We don’t save it. The AI is told not to add or remove information, but the result is a draft. For anything legal, contractual or financial, always check that the meaning has not changed.
FAQ
Can the numbers or conditions change?
The AI is instructed to keep every number, date, price, condition and link exactly and not to add or drop information. It is still a draft, so compare it with the original before you send.
Does it work for text in other languages?
Yes. The rewrite is always in the same language as the text you paste. It does not translate.
Will it rewrite my legally required footer?
It is told to keep required information such as your postal address and unsubscribe instructions with the same meaning. Names of laws and forms are kept, with a short explanation added where helpful.
